Site Manager – Highway Infrastructure

About the role

Kier Transportation is seeking a Site Manager to lead highway infrastructure projects for North and West Northamptonshire Councils. Based on site in Brixworth, you will oversee a variety of civil engineering works, ensuring safety, quality and compliance on live public highways.

Key responsibilities

• Manage footpath reconstruction, carriageway resurfacing, surface treatments, drainage improvements, traffic signals and structure repairs.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture in line with Kier procedures and Chapter 8 regulations.
• Interpret scheme drawings, costing information and NEC4 contract requirements.
• Ensure work quality meets inspection, testing plans and current specifications.
• Administer NEC4 change control procedures, early warnings and compensation events.

Required profile

• Motivated, organised individual with a passion for highways infrastructure.
• HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience of NEC contract management.
• NRSWA Supervisor certification.
• 12D Traffic Management and SMSTS qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence (essential for site‑based role).
