Site Manager

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Site Manager to lead daily operations at our Birmingham rail facility. The site produces rail products and track components for the North American rail industry. You will supervise a small team, ensure safety, quality and productivity, and directly influence customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all day‑to‑day operations, including manufacturing, shipping, receiving, inventory and customer service.
• Supervise, coach and develop a team of 5–10 employees.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Monitor production schedules to guarantee on‑time, accurate order fulfillment.
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate material purchases.
• Maintain relationships with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements that boost efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations and quality standards.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and operational planning.
• Support hiring, employee development, performance management and workforce planning.
• Oversee facility equipment maintenance as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a manufacturing or production team of 5–10 people.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage inventory, production schedules and material procurement.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors and internal teams.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control and operational planning.
