Site Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Site Manager to lead on‑site operations for high‑voltage Air‑Insulated Switchgear (AIS) and Gas‑Insulated Switchgear (GIS) projects within our Grid Solutions team in the United Kingdom. The role acts as the central point of contact between product units and clients, ensuring safe, high‑quality installation, maintenance and commissioning of critical energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations, allocate tasks and supervise subcontractors to achieve project milestones.
• Maintain technical integrity, safety and quality standards for AIS and GIS installations.
• Coordinate with product units and clients to resolve product or installation issues.
• Identify, report and drive resolution of non‑conformities to keep projects on schedule.
• Promote a safety‑first culture and ensure compliance with regulations such as the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
• Prepare accurate records and quality documentation for internal governance and safety audits.

Required profile

• Hands‑on leader with extensive experience in high‑voltage infrastructure projects.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends and overtime.
• Ability to spend prolonged periods away from home for training and field assignments.

Required skills

• High‑voltage AIS and GIS installation and commissioning.
• Quality assurance and non‑conformity management.
• Knowledge of UK construction safety regulations (CDM Regulations).
