Site Manager

About the role

Our client, a well‑established construction business, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of commercial, education, healthcare and refurbishment projects. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise construction projects from start to finish, meeting programme, budget and quality targets.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to optimise site productivity.
• Maintain full responsibility for site health and safety compliance.
• Monitor progress against programmes, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain site documentation, including reports, drawings, schedules and look‑ahead programmes.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams and the supply chain throughout the project lifecycle.
• Control labour, plant and material resources to support efficient delivery.
• Inspect workmanship and quality, ensuring adherence to specifications.
• Work with Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams on cost control and value engineering.
• Record and communicate site instructions, progress updates and issue resolutions.
• Conduct regular site inspections and manage snagging processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction projects across multiple sectors.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and manage subcontractor relationships.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary between £45,000 and £55,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Monday‑Friday working hours 08:00‑17:00 with an early finish on Fridays.
• 25 days annual leave plus public holidays and a birthday bonus.
