Site Manager

About the role

Galliford Try is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee multiple construction sites across the East of England. The role involves ensuring sites are organised, safe, and delivered on time, to specification and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and maintain site order, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Direct labour, plant, staff and equipment to achieve project milestones.
• Lead and develop junior team members, fostering high morale and performance.
• Coordinate with buying and surveying teams to secure materials and subcontractors.
• Monitor site performance against contract targets and implement corrective actions.
• Achieve high scores on bi‑monthly health and safety audits.

Required profile

• Significant experience on design‑and‑build projects for a main contractor.
• Proven ability to manage health & safety, design, and procurement processes.
• Experience coordinating packages from design through to handover.
• Background in education or Ministry of Justice projects is desirable.

Required skills

• Valid CSCS Card at Site Manager level.
• SMSTS certification.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation.
