Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Connells Group is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join its Group Technology team in Milton Keynes. You will work on ConnellsX, an internal developer platform built on Microsoft Azure, helping to keep the service reliable, scalable and observable while supporting development velocity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide structured, blameless incident response for teams using ConnellsX.
• Investigate root causes, drive post‑incident actions and maintain runbooks.
• Define and monitor SLIs, contribute to SLOs and manage error budgets.
• Build dashboards, alerts and automation to improve visibility and reduce toil.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance reliability, observability and capacity planning.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Azure monitoring tools (Application Insights, Alerts, Action Groups).
• Strong background in OpenTelemetry and Kubernetes observability.
• Proven incident‑response and post‑incident review practice.
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
• Experience defining SLIs/SLOs and managing error budgets.
