Site Supervisor – Digital Infrastructure Projects

About the role

As a Site Supervisor within Galliford Try’s Digital Infrastructure division, you will oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of security‑related construction projects valued between £1m‑£8m across the UK. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Site Manager to ensure safe, on‑time, and high‑quality execution of critical national infrastructure works.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, inclusive site environment and lead inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring work meets specifications, quality standards and programme targets.
• Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, permits, quality checks and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supply‑chain partners to achieve budget and schedule goals.
• Support planning, programming and stakeholder communication through regular site meetings.
• Ensure risk assessments (RAMS), COSHH assessments and permits are in place and adhered to.
• Assist with site set‑up and pre‑construction activities.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing on site.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Experience leading or supporting teams in a construction environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and deliver work to quality standards.
• Good organisational skills and familiarity with site documentation and business management systems.
• Security Clearance (SC level) – obtainable or already held.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 (or similar productivity suite).
• SMSTS, CSCS or equivalent construction qualifications.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and related site documentation processes.
• Experience with civil‑engineering tasks such as drainage, ducting, excavation and reinforced concrete works.
• Familiarity with RAMS and COSHH assessment procedures.
