Site Supervisor – Leicester

About the role

This hands‑on supervisory position is based at a busy recycling site in Leicester. You will oversee daily operations, allocate work, and ensure health, safety and compliance standards are met while supporting a dynamic team.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure company policies are followed.
• Allocate daily tasks to yard staff and coordinate site activity with MRF and maintenance teams.
• Drive housekeeping standards, conduct site audits and support team briefings, training and performance management.
• Verify input materials against waste transfer notes and cover weighbridge and mobile plant duties as needed.
• Manage agency administration, check invoice accuracy and prepare attendance and mobile‑plant bonus information.
• Support EMS, fire, compliance and safety checks.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory experience in a waste, recycling, heavy‑manufacturing or fast‑moving processing environment.
• Valid Loading Shovel and/or 360 Excavator licence (desirable).
• IOSH Managing Safely certification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong health and safety awareness and the ability to solve practical and technical problems.
• Proactive, flexible, self‑motivated and able to work in a busy, hands‑on setting.

Required skills

• Loading Shovel licence (or equivalent).
• 360 Excavator licence (or equivalent).
• IOSH Managing Safely certification.
• Full driving licence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
