About the role

Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled welder to join its Power & Controls division in Wolverhampton. The role focuses on TIG welding and brazing of aluminium components for aerospace applications, supporting high‑precision production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding and brazing on aluminium products, including thin‑gauge sheet metal (0.5‑3.5 mm).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to execute welds to exact tolerances.
• Set up, calibrate and operate TIG welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with company and aerospace standards.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines and quality goals.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
• Participate in internal and external training to retain required welding certifications.

Required profile

• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent vocational qualification in welding/fabrication (or comparable on‑the‑job experience).
• Proven experience as a TIG welder, particularly with aluminium components.
• Demonstrated ability to work to high tolerances on thin‑gauge sheet metal.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
