Small Works Estimator

About the role

Our client, a growing SME specialising in repairs, maintenance and first‑fix works, is seeking an ambitious Small Works Estimator to join their Liverpool team. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to take ownership of the estimating process for high‑volume, smaller projects up to £15k and develop commercial expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Review client enquiries and scopes of work, arranging engineer site visits and analysing survey information.
• Challenge and refine scopes where required and obtain costs from approved suppliers and subcontractors.
• Produce accurate, competitive quotations and manage costs through the company’s job‑tracking system.
• Collaborate closely with coordinators, engineers and subcontractors to ensure a smooth delivery process.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in estimating, repairs, maintenance or fixing work.
• Background in a subcontractor environment, preferably plumbing, electrical or joinery.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills and a genuine desire to progress.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
