SME Sales Executive

About the role

This Leeds‑based position is designed for a junior commercial insurance professional who wants to manage an existing portfolio of SME clients and develop new business. You will inherit a book of SME accounts from day one and receive support to grow your confidence as a front‑line adviser.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop an inherited portfolio of SME commercial insurance clients.
• Handle renewals, client reviews and day‑to‑day relationship management.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen cover and support client retention.
• Seek sensible cross‑sell opportunities that add genuine value.
• Build a personal pipeline of new SME business over time.
• Provide clear advice and sensible cover recommendations to decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Some experience in commercial insurance (e.g., Account Handler, Development Executive, junior Account Executive).
• Desire to move towards front‑end client management and business development.
• Strong communication skills with business owners.
• Motivation to grow a book of SME clients in the Leeds market.

• Competitive salary between £30,000 and £40,000 per year.
• Full‑time, onsite role based in Leeds, Yorkshire and Humberside.
