Snowflake Data Architect – London, Wembley

About the role

Our client, a well‑established multinational organisation, is looking for a Snowflake/Data Architect to join their team in Wembley, London. The role is full‑time and requires five days on‑site, focusing on designing, governing and optimising Snowflake‑based data platforms for AI/ML consumption.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce data‑modelling standards, including star‑schema patterns and Snowflake object hierarchies across the enterprise.
• Design secure, high‑throughput cross‑cloud pipelines that connect AWS S3 and Azure APIs through Snowflake, ensuring data lineage and auditability.
• Own Snowflake governance, implementing RBAC, dynamic data masking, row‑level security and comprehensive audit logging.
• Monitor Snowflake credit consumption, identify costly query anti‑patterns and optimise warehouse scheduling to reduce spend.
• Architect data stores and pipelines tailored for LLM consumption, including vector databases, embedding pipelines and RAG‑compatible structures.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to define and document formal data contracts between producers and consumers.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years of experience specialising in Snowflake platform design, data engineering or data architecture.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Snowflake platform expertise.
• Advanced SQL and Python programming.
• Experience with dbt or equivalent transformation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of AWS IAM, Amazon S3 and PrivateLink.
• Knowledge of vector databases, embedding stores and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
