Social Skills Coach – Student Support

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Social Skills Coach to join our Student Experience team. In this permanent, full‑time position you will empower students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them build confidence, resilience and the skills required for success in college and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of students identified in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Deliver one‑to‑one and group interventions focused on emotional wellbeing, social skills, resilience and independence.
• Support students through assessments, annual reviews and transition planning.
• Provide advice, guidance and sign‑posting during drop‑in sessions.
• Design and run social‑skills activities and programmes aligned with EHCP outcomes.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SEND teams, families and external agencies.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records using college systems.
• Advise colleagues on inclusive support strategies and contribute to wider wellbeing initiatives.
