About the role

Join Northumberland County Council’s Fostering Team as a part‑time Social Worker. You will help ensure children in care receive stable, loving placements by supporting foster carers and overseeing placements.

Key responsibilities

Recruit, assess, and train new foster carers.
Supervise and support existing foster carers and their placements.
Complete required documentation and case records.
Participate in duty rota, responding to placement needs and supporting colleagues.
Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to represent the child’s voice.

Required profile

Qualified social worker with at least two years post‑qualifying statutory experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Creative problem‑solving ability.
