Softs Multi-Product Designer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Softs Multi‑Product Designer to join Debenhams Group’s in‑house design team in central London. The role combines trend‑driven creativity with commercial focus to develop woven, multi‑product collections for women’swear.

Key responsibilities

• Identify emerging fashion trends and translate them into cohesive seasonal collections.
• Create mood boards, colour palettes and design direction that align with the brand DNA.
• Source and develop new fabrics, custom embellishments and embroidery, collaborating with print designers on engineered placement and hero prints.
• Produce detailed hand drawings, CADs and design specifications using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Work closely with buying, merchandising, garment technology and cold‑weather teams to ensure balanced, commercially viable ranges.
• Participate in fit and seal sessions to protect original design intent.
• Travel domestically and internationally to build supplier relationships and conduct research trips.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in women’swear softs and woven multi‑product design.
• Strong trend awareness and ability to influence product direction quickly.
• Commercially driven mindset with proven ability to deliver market‑leading collections.
• Degree in Fashion Design or related discipline.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Ability to create detailed CAD drawings and hand sketches.
