Software Developer – 6 month Fixed Term Contract

About the role

The client, a buy‑side financial institution implementing Charles River, Adroit EMS and Databricks, is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work closely with technology teams, trading desks and external vendors to design, integrate and optimise trading platforms and data extraction.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development and deployment of trading systems.
• Develop and maintain applications and services using Python, Angular.Net and Databricks.
• Write and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures and database structures for high‑performance data access and reporting.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring system stability and resilience.
• Follow best practices for coding, testing and deployment in a regulated environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer/Developer within financial services, preferably in trading, investment management or capital markets.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Angular and .Net, with experience in Databricks.
• Hands‑on experience with API development and integration (REST, SOAP, WebSockets).
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, including query optimisation, stored procedures and schema design.
• Familiarity with trading workflows, market data and order/execution management systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication abilities.
