Software Developer – Java, Spring Boot (Blackburn)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join a market‑leading digital systems business in Blackburn. The role offers on‑the‑job training, a clear progression path and a competitive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Review and improve development processes and code efficiency.
• Manage and resolve tickets collaboratively within a team.
• Develop backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Use Git for version control, participate in code reviews and merge requests.
• Contribute to new product development and technical architecture planning.
• Work on‑site Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Required profile

• Experience across the full software development lifecycle in a commercial environment.
• Strong Java development background (6‑11 years) with hands‑on use of Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Ability to work collaboratively, communicate with customers and deliver high‑quality solutions.
