Software Developer Placement – 13‑Month Internship

About the role

The Database Architecture team in Stevenage is looking for a motivated undergraduate to join a 13‑month software development placement. You will work on data‑management solutions that support high‑profile space missions for ESA and commercial satellite customers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse spacecraft engineering use cases, prototype software and deliver tested solutions.
• Work on varied technical, project‑management and communication tasks to build end‑to‑end data‑management tools.
• Collaborate within an inclusive, diverse team that values creative problem‑solving.
• Maintain ethical compliance and support sustainable growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Must be an undergraduate for the full placement duration, studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to listen, understand and convey information.
• Motivation to work in a technical team, develop professionally and find creative solutions to complex problems.
• Evidence‑based decision‑making and a desire to work in an open, trusting environment.
