Software Developer - Python & Django Backend

About the role
We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to design, build and maintain high‑quality web and mobile assessment solutions for the healthcare and research sectors. You will work in a hybrid model, spending two days a week onsite in London, and collaborate closely with senior technical leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement full‑stack web and mobile applications using Python, Django, JavaScript and HTML.
- Create and maintain RESTful APIs for system integrations.
- Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code and participate in code reviews.
- Maintain and enhance existing codebases, ensuring cross‑device and browser compatibility.
- Develop and execute unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests, applying test‑driven development where appropriate.
- Configure and manage development, testing and production environments, including CI/CD pipelines and containerisation.
- Provide operational support for production issues and optimise performance.
- Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience building full‑stack web applications, preferably in regulated or healthcare environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Strong problem‑solving, organisational and communication skills.
