Software Developer – SC Cleared (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with active SC clearance to join a high‑profile, business‑critical programme in Leeds. The role is a six‑month contract, 37 hours per week, with a hybrid working model (approximately 50 % on‑site). You will work within a collaborative team delivering enhancements for the RTGS2 application.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java‑based services using Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Write efficient PL/SQL code and optimise database interactions.
• Integrate messaging solutions with Kafka and ensure reliable data flow.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration pipelines.
• Support the RTGS2 environment and resolve production issues promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Active Security Check (SC) clearance.
• Strong organisational skills, self‑motivation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
