Software Development Engineer III – Customer Fulfilment

About the role

We are building the next‑generation Fulfilment Point System (FPS) for Tesco, a dynamic, scalable platform that automates warehouse operations across grocery, GM and fashion categories. As a Software Development Engineer III you will join a globally distributed full‑stack Java team to design, develop and deliver high‑performance services that enable real‑time order picking, marshalling and dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Java‑based micro‑services that power the FPS platform.
• Develop backend APIs, rich UI components and event‑driven data pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps to maintain CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration and cloud deployment.
• Optimise warehouse workflows to reduce cost and improve throughput.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and performance tuning.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale, resilient Java applications.
• Strong understanding of micro‑service architecture and event‑driven systems.
• Ability to work in a green‑field project and drive technical decisions.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps practices and continuous delivery.
