Software Development Engineer – Ring

About the role
The Developer Experience (DevX) team at Ring is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build cloud services and tools that accelerate firmware testing for Ring and Blink devices. You will work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and applied AI, shaping the platform that delivers fast, reliable feedback to engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate AWS‑based services that streamline test execution across emulators, hardware devices, and other environments.
- Apply generative AI techniques to add value in test analysis, developer workflows, or AI‑powered capabilities for other teams.
- Collaborate closely with firmware teams to understand their needs and integrate tools into their end‑to‑end development process.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle: scoping, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Write clean, maintainable code and engage in peer code reviews.
Required profile
- Professional software development experience (non‑internship).
- Experience contributing to architecture and design of scalable systems.
- Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# with solid object‑oriented design skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
Required skills
- AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Java, C++ or C# programming.
- Object‑oriented design and design patterns.
- API design and integration.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with generative AI concepts and model inference.
