Software Development Manager – Lead Engineering Standards

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Software Development Manager to lead engineering standards for a high‑growth UK SaaS platform. You will combine hands‑on development with people leadership, guiding a team of AI‑driven developers to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing customer‑facing products.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce engineering standards, architecture, and best practices across the platform.
• Lead, mentor and grow a hybrid/remote development team, balancing people leadership with technical direction.
• Drive delivery performance while ensuring maintainable, secure code and robust DevOps pipelines.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to evolve the platform in a fast‑moving SaaS environment.
• Champion automated testing, QA practices and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a SaaS or product‑led company.
• Proven track record as a hands‑on software engineer (C#/.NET or modern JavaScript/TypeScript stacks).
• Demonstrated leadership of engineering teams, preferably with AI‑enhanced development processes.
• Strong understanding of building and operating systems at scale.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
