Software Development Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Software Development Team Lead to join a leading organisation in affordable housing services and personal care. The role is fully remote with occasional travel to Exeter and offers the chance to shape high‑quality software solutions that have a real impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications following best practices, coding standards and design patterns.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, including code reviews and guidance.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Participate in system architecture and design, selecting appropriate technologies and ensuring scalability, resilience and security.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to guarantee quality and reliability.
• Communicate progress, risks and technical concepts to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience leading development teams and delivering complex software projects.
