Software Engineer – Backend & Platform (Go/Kubernetes)

About the role

Valarian Technologies is building Acra, a secure Kubernetes platform that powers dual‑use technology solutions for government and commercial customers. As a Software Engineer you will design, develop, and operate backend services that enable secure compute, data governance, and AI‑driven security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend services, APIs, and platform components using Go.
• Own the full lifecycle of services—from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and secrets management to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure.
• Build platform features for workload isolation, policy enforcement, audit logging, and identity‑aware communication.
• Design event‑driven distributed systems that ensure resilience and scalability.
• Improve metrics, logging, tracing, and incident‑response processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Strong interest in backend, platform, Kubernetes, and security engineering.
• Ability to take ownership of services and contribute independently.
• Willingness to grow expertise across the full stack of a security platform.

Required skills

• Go programming language.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Secrets management and secure API design.
• Experience with metrics, logging, tracing, and incident response.
