Software Engineer (C++)

About the role

Our client, a growing technology organisation, is looking for a C++ Software Engineer to join its Research & Development team. The role involves developing, maintaining and supporting software applications, initially focusing on internal tools, web‑based applications and APIs, with opportunities to work on a broader portfolio of bespoke products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications using C++.
• Build, test and support software releases.
• Develop and maintain internal tools, APIs and web‑based applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver business‑critical solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug and enhance existing applications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and development best practices.
• Gain exposure to technologies such as C#.NET Framework, MFC and DevOps.
• Work with modern cloud platforms on Azure and AWS.

Required profile

• At least 12 months of commercial C++ development experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Passion for software development and emerging technologies.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proactive attitude towards learning and professional growth.

What we offer

• Hybrid working policy (one day per week on‑site).
• Salary up to £52,000, dependent on experience.
