About the role
Booking.com’s RegTech team within the Fintech Business Unit is looking for a Backend Software Engineer I. You will help build and scale services that support compliance, risk screening and regulatory reporting for partners and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high‑performance, scalable backend services.
- Rapidly prototype next‑generation systems while ensuring reliability.
- Identify and resolve production issues, prioritising based on customer impact.
- Advocate best‑practice development standards within the team.
- Own micro‑services and act as a technical liaison for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Collaborate with compliance officers to provide tooling, analytics and reporting that support regulatory processes.
- Participate in recruitment activities such as interviewing and onboarding new engineers.
Required profile
- Minimum of 2 years of software development experience.
- Self‑starter attitude with strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to understand regulatory processes and translate them into technical solutions.
