Software Engineer II (C#/.NET)

About the role

Cadence is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Nottingham product development team. You will help create world‑class engineering software used by automotive, aerospace, motorsport, electric‑vehicle and renewable‑energy companies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using C#.NET and WPF.
• Implement new features from requirements through design, coding, testing and release.
• Build user interfaces with XAML, data binding and MVVM patterns.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code that meets performance standards.
• Debug, troubleshoot and resolve defects across application components.
• Break down technical tasks into manageable deliverables and provide progress updates.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, product managers and domain experts.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions and technical initiatives.
• Develop automated tests and improve software reliability.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code while validating outputs.

Required profile

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of professional software development experience (earlier‑career candidates are welcome).
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
