Software Engineer – International

About the role

The Money Platform International team builds the infrastructure that powers Ramp’s expansion into global markets, handling international payments, multi‑currency operations, and regional compliance. This role combines greenfield market launches with scaling existing systems to support cross‑border payments and accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Build payment infrastructure that works across multiple countries, currencies, and regulatory regimes.
• Design multi‑currency accounting and reconciliation systems at scale.
• Integrate with international banking systems and payment rails such as SEPA, BACS, and SWIFT.
• Launch new markets (0‑1 work) while scaling existing ones (1‑N work).
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with compliance, product, ops, and external partners.
• Own problems end‑to‑end—from architecture to production reliability and partner integrations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience in high‑scale production environments.
• Strong systems design skills, able to turn ambiguous requirements into reliable solutions.
• Experience thriving in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments with independent ownership.
• Comfort with distributed systems, performance optimization, and production reliability.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
