Software Engineer – Java & JavaScript (Hybrid, Edinburgh)

About the role

We are a technology‑for‑good organisation based on the outskirts of Edinburgh, seeking a collaborative Software Engineer with solid Java and JavaScript experience. You will join an Agile squad of experienced engineers, working on a business‑critical platform that supports thousands of users across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain micro‑service applications using Java, Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Contribute to front‑end features with React.js and TypeScript.
• Participate in test‑driven development and ensure high code quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a hybrid work environment.
• Support deployment pipelines and cloud infrastructure on AWS.

Required profile

• Strong collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile squads and following best‑practice development processes.
• Commitment to writing clean, well‑tested code.
