Software Engineer (Java/Python)

About the role

Aspect Capital is seeking a Software Engineer to join its development team in London. You will use technology to solve business problems and help deliver the firm’s ambitious plans in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features across systems built with Java, Python and MATLAB.
• Integrate solutions with proprietary trading platforms and third‑party SaaS providers.
• Apply best‑practice software development lifecycle techniques such as TDD, CI/CD and monitoring.
• Learn the specifics of the financial markets Aspect trades and the supporting business processes.
• Stay current with industry trends and represent the team at conferences and meet‑ups.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Ability to take requirements from concept through to production.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Java (preferred) and willingness to work with Python.
• Experience or interest in MATLAB.
• Familiarity with cloud and container technologies such as AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
