Software Engineer (Junior/Mid Level)

About the role

Gemba Advantage is seeking motivated Junior and Mid‑Level Software Engineers to join an agile delivery team building secure, user‑centred digital products for critical public‑sector organisations across the UK. You will work on‑site up to four days a week, collaborating closely with customers to design and deliver cloud‑native solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of secure, scalable software services.
• Research, prototype and deliver technical solutions alongside experienced teammates.
• Participate in code reviews, incorporate feedback and continuously improve coding standards.
• Build, test and deploy applications using modern frameworks and best practices.
• Work directly with customers and coordinate across delivery disciplines.

Required profile

• Willingness and eligibility to obtain SC & DV security clearance (essential).
• Solid foundation in software engineering principles.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language (Java, TypeScript, Python or Go).
• Interest or hands‑on exposure to cloud and container technologies such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes.
• Proactive attitude toward learning, problem‑solving and improving development processes.
• Collaborative mindset valuing teamwork and quality delivery.
