Software Engineer – PHP, React & Cloud

About the role

Gear4music is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join its growing technical team. You will work on modern web technologies, help shape the e‑commerce platform and contribute to the performance and scalability of our services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain modern PHP applications and front‑end components.
• Drive technical change and champion new technologies that add commercial value.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to make data‑driven decisions.
• Promote a positive, open and communicative team culture.
• Help improve system performance, scalability and reliability.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic learner who enjoys collaborative work.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership from start to finish.
• Good communication skills and ability to give and receive feedback.

Required skills

• Modern PHP development.
• HTML5, SCSS and JavaScript (ReactJS, ExtJS).
• MySQL and experience with large databases.
• Cloud computing and containerised applications (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Composer, GitHub, CI pipelines, PHPUnit, Google Cloud, ElasticSearch and xhprof.
