Software Engineer – TypeScript / Next.js / SQL

About the role

This position is for a Software Engineer focused on building and improving business‑critical applications and internal systems using modern web technologies. You will work across frontend and backend services, collaborating with engineering, operations and support teams to deliver reliable software.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and enhance existing functionality in TypeScript, Next.js and NestJS applications.
• Support integrations, operational workflows and customer‑facing functionality.
• Investigate and resolve bugs, edge cases and data‑related issues.
• Write scalable, maintainable and reliable code.
• Contribute to system reliability, documentation and engineering best practices.
• Utilise AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Cursor in daily workflows.

Required profile

• Commercial experience with TypeScript in both frontend and backend development.
• Experience with Next.js, NestJS and modern web application architecture.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Background working on production systems and business applications.
• Good understanding of APIs, system integrations and data flows.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical teams.

What we offer

• Salary up to £55,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
