Software Engineering Manager – Java, JavaScript, Cloud

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and coach large development teams responsible for building and maintaining technology products. The role is contract based (6 months) and offers a hybrid working pattern with three days on‑site in London.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage multiple software engineering teams delivering consumer‑facing products.
• Oversee the design, development and maintenance of Java and JavaScript applications.
• Drive architectural decisions around cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and distributed systems.
• Ensure scalability, reliability and performance of services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Promote engineering best practices and transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager in large, complex environments.
• Hands‑on background with Java, JavaScript and cloud platforms (Azure or GCP).
• Strong track record of building high‑performing engineering teams.
• Experience delivering consumer‑facing products and managing full‑stack concerns.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

What we offer
