Software Test Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our growing team in Stevenage, working on advanced simulation and experimentation systems. The role involves full‑cycle software testing, from planning through validation, and close collaboration with developers, integration teams and customers. The position is hybrid, with 3‑4 days on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases and procedures aligned with system requirements.
• Verify software functionality and support integration, proving and validation activities.
• Investigate defects, analyse logs and test data to determine root causes.
• Produce clear test reports and validation evidence for customers.
• Collaborate with development teams throughout Agile delivery cycles.
• Support demonstrations, trials and customer‑facing activities as required.

Required profile

• Experience in software, integration, system testing or validation.
• Proven ability to develop and execute test plans and verification activities.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, including defect investigation and log analysis.
• Experience working in Agile environments and using Jira for defect/task management.
• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
• Security clearance: British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship.
