Software Testing Engineer – Integration & Systems Validation

About the role

Join a specialist Integration and Systems Validation team to lead end‑to‑end software testing for advanced digital simulation and experimentation products. You will work in a dynamic environment, supporting the testing and integration of WSSE products within a software simulation/emulation platform.

Key responsibilities

• Understand customer needs and requirements from a proving perspective.
• Interpret design and architecture, defining software test‑bed requirements.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, designs and specifications.
• Conduct progressive software testing throughout development cycles.
• Lead investigations into software defects and emergent behaviours.
• Support external integration, trials and demonstrations with partners and customers.
• Analyse logs and data to verify compliance with requirements.
• Execute formal software qualification testing.
• Provide regular updates to project leads and stakeholders.
• Write detailed test and analysis reports for certification.
• Assist the software delivery and release process, including final certification activities.

Required profile

• Understanding of software system levels and stakeholder perspectives.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Knowledge of software simulation/emulator environments.
• Experience in systems proving and certification across the development lifecycle.
• Background in functional or software testing, preferably with V&V knowledge.
• Python scripting experience.
• ISTQB software testing certification.
