About the role
We are looking for a sole‑charge Bookkeeper to join our fast‑growing services business in Rochester. The role is hands‑on and involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end processes and delivering reliable information to senior management.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain bookkeeping records using Sage and Xero.
- Process and reconcile financial transactions, including bank reconciliations.
- Support month‑end activities such as journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
- Assist with trial balances and management reporting.
- Produce reports and provide data for senior management.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve queries.
- Provide day‑to‑day finance support to the finance team.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
- Good understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in a business services environment is a plus.
Required skills
- Sage accounting software.
- Xero accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills.
