Solicitor – Contentious Probate (Berkshire)

About the role

The Legists is expanding its specialist Will Disputes and Contentious Probate team in Berkshire. We are looking for a qualified solicitor to focus exclusively on contentious probate matters, handling a diverse range of disputes arising from estates and trusts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an independent caseload of probate disputes, including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act.
• Challenge the validity of wills and represent executors, administrators, and beneficiaries in court.
• Deal with estate administration issues, Court of Protection matters, and trust‑related litigation.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues on complex, high‑value cases across contentious and private client teams.
• Provide accurate legal advice and draft pleadings, statements of case and other court documents.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience in civil litigation, with exposure to contentious probate work.
• Strong analytical ability and a genuine interest in probate and trust litigation.
• Motivated solicitor seeking a long‑term career in contentious private client work.
