Solution Architect – Integration (3‑month contract)

About the role

Oliver James is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a live integration project on a three‑month contract. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing and building a brand‑new insurance/annuity policy application from scratch, with no existing system of record.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of end‑to‑end integration solutions, translating business and technical requirements into clear architecture.
• Run requirement‑gathering and solution‑design workshops directly with clients and stakeholders.
• Produce solution design artefacts such as architecture diagrams, data‑flow maps and integration specifications.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure implementations match the agreed design.
• Evaluate and apply integration platforms and tooling, with a strong focus on Workato.
• Design and build the full lifecycle of an insurance or annuity policy as a standalone application.
• Identify, document and escalate risks, assumptions and dependencies.
• Support pre‑sales activities including scoping, effort estimation and proposal writing where required.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating as a Solution Architect within an integration or technology consultancy environment.
• Solid background in integrations, including APIs (REST/SOAP), messaging patterns, event‑driven architecture and data transformation.
• Hands‑on experience with Workday integrations (HR preferred, Finance also relevant).
• Experience designing greenfield solutions without an existing system of record.
• Exposure to the insurance or healthcare sector is beneficial but not mandatory.
