Solutions Architect

About the role

Plane is looking for a Solutions Architect to own the technical architecture of enterprise and regulated‑industry deployments. You will work closely with sales on large deals and with engineering to translate strict security and compliance requirements into reliable Plane installations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver self‑hosted, air‑gapped Plane deployments that meet customers’ security reviews and compliance standards.
• Conduct technical discovery calls, answer detailed security questionnaires, and define migration paths from multiple legacy tools.
• Collaborate daily with sales on live opportunities and with engineering to address product gaps uncovered by customer requirements.
• Produce clear technical documentation that customers’ own engineers can follow without Plane staff present.
• Own the end‑to‑end architecture from the first discovery call through a signed statement of work.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and defending technical architectures to skeptical, regulated buyers.
• Deep knowledge of self‑hosted/on‑premises deployments, including networking, SSO, and identity federation.
• Ability to translate security questionnaires and compliance requirements into concrete deployment decisions.
• Comfortable acting as the technical voice on sales calls, including delivering “no” or “not yet” answers.
