Sound Insulation & Air Tightness Testing Technician

About the role

Our client, a specialist acoustic consultancy, is seeking a Sound Insulation & Air Tightness Testing Technician to join their London team. You will carry out acoustic and airtightness assessments on a variety of construction projects, ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sound insulation testing and air tightness testing on new builds and refurbishments.
• Survey buildings and record measurements in line with UKAS‑accredited procedures.
• Produce clear test reports, offering guidance and technical advice to clients.
• Liaise with developers, architects and contractors throughout project delivery.
• Identify on‑site challenges and propose practical solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies.

Required profile

• Approximately two years’ experience in sound insulation and/or air tightness testing.
• Background in building compliance testing within the construction sector.
• Strong technical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Customer‑focused mindset with confidence building stakeholder relationships.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to develop new skills.
• GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English and Science.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than three points.
