Sourcing Executive / Purchasing Administrator

About the role

This position offers a buying professional the chance to move into a commercially focused sourcing and purchasing function. You will be responsible for sourcing materials and ancillary purchases, developing supplier relationships and driving cost‑effective procurement for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that meet business needs efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Identify, research and approach new suppliers and alternative sources of materials.
• Obtain, compare and evaluate quotations to secure the best pricing and commercial terms.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms and delivery conditions with suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery and cost, and resolve any issues.
• Analyse market trends and supplier capabilities to uncover new sourcing opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of sourcing activity and ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and meet agreed timelines.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sourcing, buying or purchasing, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate competitive commercial terms.
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on cost, quality and delivery.
• Attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.

What we offer

• Salary around £30,000 per annum
• Office‑based role, Monday‑Thursday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
