Sous Chef – Award‑Winning Gastro Pub

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join an award‑winning gastro pub in Ware, Hertfordshire. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help shape seasonal menus, mentor a small brigade and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly in a beautiful countryside setting.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and service delivery.
- Develop and execute seasonal à la carte menus and daily specials.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
- Lead, motivate and mentor a team of four chefs.
- Ensure efficient service during peak periods and manage stock levels.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a Junior Sous Chef ready to step up.
- Passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and high‑quality dishes.
- Calm, organised, and able to work under pressure.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport (rural location).
