Sous Chef – Culinary Leader for Care Home Dining

About the role

Hallmark Luxury Care Homes is expanding with the new Hallmark Esher Residences, a 37‑bed Grade II listed home complemented by a modern 20‑bed facility. We are seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team and help deliver nutritious, flavorful meals that enhance the daily lives of our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing balanced menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
• Collaborate with residents to incorporate their preferences and dietary requirements into menu design.
• Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage waste in an efficient manner.
• Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff.

Required profile

• Warm, personable attitude with a genuine care for resident wellbeing.
• City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent culinary qualification.
• Good understanding of nutrition and the ability to work with fresh, seasonal produce.
• Experience engaging with residents to tailor menus to their tastes.
• Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards and commitment to maintaining hygiene.
