About the role

The award‑winning event catering team in Winchester is seeking a Sous Chef to lead kitchen operations for weddings, conferences and high‑profile private events. This full‑time position offers a balanced schedule with rotas that give weekends off and no split shifts, allowing you to focus on creativity and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and execution of multiple events scheduled on the same day.
• Assist with daily production in the main kitchen hub, ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
• Develop and contribute fresh ideas to menus, adapting to client specifications.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
• Support the smooth running of the kitchen team, motivating and training junior staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
• Passion for high‑quality food and hospitality.
• Ability to inspire and lead a team under pressure.
• Organised, efficient and willing to roll up sleeves.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Menu development and costing.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in a commercial kitchen.
