Sous Chef – Luxury Hotel Kitchen

About the role

Grantley Hall, a five‑star historic hotel in North Yorkshire, is seeking a motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences across its multiple dining venues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen brigade to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
• Develop creative menus and maintain the high quality expected of a luxury establishment.
• Monitor food quality across all outlets and relay guest or team feedback to the Head Chef.
• Assist with any kitchen sections as needed and support the Head Chef during busy periods.
• Train, delegate and mentor junior team members.
• Order supplies daily, balancing stock usage, menu planning and business levels.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock control, organisation and standards throughout the kitchen.

Required profile

• Strong kitchen and knife proficiency.
• Thorough understanding of health, safety and food‑safety regulations.
• Commitment to the high standards of a luxury hospitality environment.
