About the role

Join a prestigious luxury retirement home in Bromley as a Sous Chef, supporting the Head Chef to deliver high‑quality, nutritious meals for residents. This full‑time, permanent role offers a balanced daytime shift pattern and the chance to make a real difference in a high‑end hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Prepare and present nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary requirements.
• Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth service.
• Uphold food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP compliance.
• Monitor stock levels, manage ordering, rotation and waste reduction.
• Support menu planning, portion control and budget management.
• Coach and develop junior kitchen staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel, fine‑dining restaurant or luxury care setting.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Leadership experience with a hands‑on, professional attitude.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences for residents.
