Spares Parts Coordinator

About the role

Rexroth, a specialist in drive and control technologies, designs, develops and produces radial piston motors at its Glenrothes plant in Scotland, working with OEMs in material handling, construction and forestry machinery. This full-time Spares Parts Coordinator role keeps the team up to date with developments in materials management so that business decisions are better informed.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain good knowledge of material management systems and trends in spare parts management, refurbishment and supply.
• Share information so colleagues understand the team and department objectives and targets, and ensure materials are easy for technicians to access.
• Identify improvement opportunities within the team and department, and proactively support manufacturing areas with maintenance material requests.
• Build relationships with other departments, professional bodies, suppliers and customers as required.
• Agree individual objectives and targets, such as keeping maintenance materials efficient, ensuring spares and kits are available, developing alternative suppliers to cut costs and lead times, and agreeing job requirements and competencies.
• Monitor and share own progress, take corrective action, and communicate regularly with the team and business.
• Coordinate the team to deliver maintenance service and projects, implement systems and processes that improve efficiency, and eliminate waste.
• Ensure all material is booked into the system in a reasonable time frame.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of Health and Safety issues.
• Ability to balance cost, risk and benefit when recommending changes.
• Right to work in the UK; the employer cannot sponsor international workers and does not provide a Skilled Worker visa.

Required skills

• Conversant with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of materials management software (Shire/SAP).
• Knowledge of a range of suppliers and products.
