Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Full‑time)

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time position supports children with severe learning difficulties and additional needs in a specialist school in Wickford. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to help students thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for early years through young adulthood.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to deliver tailored learning activities.
• Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom tasks and encourage student participation.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Experience or understanding of autism, learning disabilities and other SEN.
• Current DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Positive attitude, strong initiative and ability to follow guidance from teaching staff.
